Are you wondering what car detailing is? Join us as we look into car detailing and why it's so important.
On the surface, car detailing might look like something you do to give your car some extra shine. But there are some really amazing benefits from detailing like, adding value, protecting surfaces and giving you the feel good factor.
What is detailing?
You might think of shiny bright paint, vinyls and decals. But detailing is a thorough clean with the purpose of making the vehicle/vessel look and feel as fresh as possible, both inside and out. Add to that some quality product protection, regularly and this will maintain excellent condition. We Enhance, protect and maintain. It’s that simple.
What is the detailing process?
Every detailer will have their own unique approach, here at Limitless Detailing we devote time and attention to exteriors and interiors ensuring they look their best, like brand new followed up with quality products to protect surfaces. See below for a breakdown of what's involved.
We spend time restoring paint and gloss, as well as windows, wheels, tyres and rims to make sure they look their best. Dirt, grease, blemishes – they all disappear during the exterior stage – with the help of degreasers and detergents – to ensure a car/boat/motorbike looks it's finest.
Wash – Exterior detailing starts with a high-powered wash, followed by a snow foam then a thorough hand-washing then rinse.
Clay – The next step is clay work, we use a clay bar to remove any traces of overspray (watermarks, soap scum), and other particles the wash couldn’t remove on its own. We then wash the car again and dry with a Microfibre drying towel.
Polish – It’s normal for a car to loose some of its shine, so restoring its original paint coating helps. This is the polishing stage.
Seal – Finally, the exterior process ends with the application of sealant, to give the car a glossy shine. In some cases, we will go further, by applying a ceramic coating.
Vacuuming – All areas of the car receive thorough cleaning, including the glove compartment and trunk.
Brushing/Scrubbing/Shampooing – Mats, carpet and upholstery receive a thorough clean, the goal is to remove the stains and blemishes that a regular wash can’t lift.
Wiping/Re-vacuuming – On particular surfaces, such as the windows, dashboard and door panels, we wipe these surfaces down with a cleaning agent then rejuvenate all plastics or leathers with a uv protection.
Deodorising – Finally, we spray the inside of your car to ensure it has a pleasing odour, as a finishing touch.
